Seven faithful AMSF members signed up to perform at Grace House Assisted Living in Silver Spring on Saturday July 13th at 4:00 p.m. They were Alberto Gamez, piano; Ellen Lazarus, guitar; Barbara Freggens, guitar; Anne Spear, piano; Sharon Atteh-Chi, flute; Richard Zierdt, piano; and Carol Henry, piano. Respectively, composers included Mozart, Piazzolla, Carulli, Handel, Bach, Chopin, and Schrader.
On the eve of the performance however, we received an email from Assistant Director Alex Brodt informing us that there had been a COVID outbreak at Grace House, and he would have to cancel the recital. He informed us that the residents were disappointed because they always look forward to our recitals to which they had become accustomed over the years.
Since Community Outreach recitals are already scheduled to the end of 2024, unfortunately Grace House cannot be re-scheduled this year. We look forward to performing there again in 2025.
