The winter Salon Recital this year was held on Sunday, February 22nd at the home of Allan Reiter.

The program opened with a string quartet performing Corelli’s energetic “Christmas Concerto” and moved into lyrical clarinet and piano works by Gerald Finzi and Schumann. A more introspective mood followed with the first movement of Brahms’s trio for clarinet, cello, and piano, before shifting to the playful waltzes of Shostakovich for clarinet, flute, and piano. The recital concluded with the Theme and Variations from Schubert’s “Trout” Quintet, with bass clarinet replicating the string bass score. Overall, it was a fun afternoon of chamber music and enjoyable for all to play and visit at the reception following. A huge thank you to Allan for graciously hosting.

The next Salon Recital will be Saturday, June 6th. Email cpew@amsfperform.org if you’d like to join!
